\nStart requesting everything in writing with an agreement that they will pay back what they borrow from you. You will see that it will not be popular when they are faced with this.<\/p>\n

Also talk to a lawyer and also to the bank so that they cannot take out loans in your name etc.<\/p>\n

If you can, move far away from them, change phone numbers etc. and cut off contact with them.<\/p>\n

You are just their ATM and nothing else. Get a backbone and say NO the next time they beg for money from you.<\/p>\n

So, here\u2019s the thing I always thought I was helping out because that\u2019s what you do for family, right?<\/p>\n

I paid my rent, my bills, my loans, and yeah, I helped my parents whenever they asked, mostly when they were broke.<\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t think much of it, just figured it was family. One time my aunt was like, \u201cYou\u2019re a true blessing,\u201d and for a second, I felt appreciated.<\/p>\n

But then my mom just laughed and said, \u201cWe didn\u2019t raise him for free!\u201d And that kind of hit me like a ton of bricks.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s my own mom.<\/p>\n

So I stopped helping. And as expected, they freaked out.<\/p>\n

Yelling, guilt trips, the whole nine yards. Then, two days later, a box showed up at my place.<\/p>\n

I open it, and it\u2019s a bill.<\/p>\n

Like an actual itemized list of everything they spent raising me.<\/p>\n

Food, clothes, education, the works. And they wanted payback.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t even know what to say.<\/p>\n

I feel like I\u2019ve been their ATM my whole life, not their son. I\u2019m angry, confused, and honestly kind of hurt.<\/p>\n

Bright Side, am I overreacting? Has anyone ever dealt with something this insane?<\/p>\n
